 Colnago pays homage to the greatest genius who ever lived, a man who more than five centuries ago designed the first bicycle, Leonardo da Vinci with a special limited edition bicycle: the President LdV. LdV is a further evolution of the chassis of the Anniversary bicycle. Now thanks to revolutionary new construction methods derived from aerospace and the use of a new high-modulus carbon fiber, the President weighs in at approximately 200 grams less than last years model. For 2005, President has an attractive new "Twill" carbon fibre that adds even more elegance to this unique new Colnago. PR00, that brings out the classic look of pure carbon fibre and FLR, which overlays the attractive carbon fibre twill with a layer of red clearcoat.
For 2005, the C50 had undergone a substantial upgrade, with the tubes and lugs made of a new type of high-modulus carbon fibre that provides more rigidity and lighter weight. In a medium size frame, the weight savings is around 100 grams. Further improvements have been made to the carbon fibre lugs, which thanks to the use of the new of high-modulus carbon fibre, are shorter and thus lighter but more rigid. This new generation of carbon fibre is made with a “Twill” weave, which offers a way for the new C50 to be immediately distinguishable from previous models. We’ve designed the graphics to show more carbon fiber as well. Finally, there are new C50 sizes for 2005, with a 51 classic and a 54 sloping. With 20 sizes available in C50, there is an incredible range of choices designed to fit almost any rider like a custom frame.
